Congratulations to St. Thomas Aquinas on their NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ranking in both the ESPNRise and Adidas/NSCAA national polls!

Congratulations to CBC High on their Missouri Class 3 state championship.  Also congratulations to Springfield Catholic on their Class 1 Runner-up finish and to Columbia Hickman and Cape Central on their 3rd place finishes.

Your tournament has helped our program immensely find our strengths and weaknesses. We seem to learn more when we lose than when we win. Thank you on behalf of our program and all of those coaches and teams who have improved by taking part in your tournament and who may or may not have recognized it or taken time to thank you. I know you love what you do but in so many ways if coaches look carefully at the competition they face in your tournament they will be able to become a better team regardless of their outcome. I can assure you we spent more time defending re-starts after our loss to St. John the Baptist. Our program truly believes that we use our regular season schedule to prepare us for what we face in November. It doesnt guarantee we will win a title year in and year out but it does give our kids confidence knowing they have faced the best teams in the city, state, region and country by playing great teams over two months. -

2007 Event

The Coaches of Quincy High School have organized the Quincy High Soccer Classic the past three years and have built the classic up to 28 of the top high school teams from across the nation to compete. It is one of the elite showcase tournaments around and not only generates interest from premier schools, programs & college coaches from across the nation it generates a great deal of economic revenue for the greater Quincy Community. What stands out about the coaches of Quincy High is they epitomize the two key terms for anyone seeking to be successful 'passion & commitment'. Their passion for soccer and bringing high level soccer to Quincy is clear. Their ability to communicate and pay attention to the smallest detail makes the experience for every high school not just a soccer experience but a cultural and sportsmanship like experience. They promote t-shirt exchanges, & team dinners their team hosts for guest teams to promote interaction and fellowship. I have never met a a group of coaches more passionate about running a tournament the right way. They are extremely proud of Quincy soccer and it's tradition and represent Quincy in the proudest and most professional manner. They are an advocate for the community, for high school soccer and the lessons it brings to those participating.

They are thoughtful and considerate in recognizing the successful traditions of opposing teams.  They are motivated by their passion for soccer and in doing so, it has helped numerous high school students get recognized for soccer scholarships, promote friendships and respect among nationally recognized programs and has helped the Quincy community through direct economic benefits (hotels, restaurants, etc) to the community. Their primary motivation was their passion for soccer but in the end it had several distinct benefactors. It has been a win-win situation for everyone involved. Organizing the logistics, officials, concessions, volunteers and sponsors for a tournament of this magnitude takes great vision and leadership. It was quite evident last week that the organizers were able to bring the community together to put on a first class event. The sports section of last week's newspaper showcased each team involved and did a stand up job of promoting the sport of soccer and the players and coaches who are committed to the ideals of excellence, sportsmanship, and team camaraderie. From start to finish the coaches are involved. Any school district or professional would be fortunate to have coach's of this quality and character.

I want to thank you for an unbelievable weekend.  The level of soccer was brilliant and the organization was first class.  I would also like to mention how pleased we were with the hotel, the restaurants and everyone else we came across.  You have obviously done a great job in getting the community to get behind this tourney.  We are already looking forward to next year. I think this tourney has put us in a great situation for our playoffs.
